What is it?

Liposuction is a procedure to remove stubborn fat deposits in unwanted areas. This procedure is commonly used to treat the thighs, hips, bottom, tummy, arms, neck and ankles.

Here at Bioscor apart from the traditional method, we also do laser lipolysis using Smartlipo Laser machine. This is a new technique designed to remove excess fatty tissue by the interaction of a laser beam with fat cells. It is minimally invasive and has less down time compared to the traditional method.

The initial consultation

On your visit, the doctor will firstly ask you questions on your medical history, your expectations, examine the areas of concern and make his recommendation as to which technique will give a better result.

The procedure

Both procedures are done under local anaesthetic and mild sedation in our modern and fully-equipped facility. Patients can go home afterwards, coming back the next day to change the dressings, and from then the doctor will inform you of when you need to come back again.

How much does it cost?

The cost is highly variable according to area and extent of treatment. An accurate quote cannot be given without personal assessment by the surgeon.

Laser Lipolysis

SmartLipo is a short pulse Nd:YAG system that is used in laser assisted liposculpture. Traditional liposuction involves a vacuum pump inserted undearneath the skin and sucking out the fat. This procedure is highly traumatic and can produce side effects like swelling and blood loss etc. Another disadvantage is the limited possibility of modelling the treated areas.

SmartLipo works differently by using the laser to destroy the cell membranes of fat tissue. They break down and are transformed into an oily substance that is immediately absorbed and eliminated in a natural manner. At the end of the treatment the fatty tissues are more compact, with greater suppleness and less surface unevenness.
